You’ve done everything you were supposed to… so why doesn’t it feel like enough?

On the outside, you’re the dependable daughter, the reliable partner and friend, or the high achiever who never lets anything slip. But inside, it can feel like you’re barely staying afloat under the pressure of everyone’s expectations. For a lot of people, this isn’t how they think of it—it just feels like what they “have to do.” But part of you doesn’t want to accept that, and you feel like you’re suppressing who you really are.

Maybe you’re struggling with…

Feeling like you’re surviving, not living.

More often than not, you wake up already tired, going through your routine on autopilot…because that’s what keeps things moving. You nod and smile, hold your frustrations in, shove down the feeling of wanting to disappear, and do what you’re supposed to so nothing slips through the cracks. You’re functional—but miserable. By the end of the day, all that’s left is a kind of numb exhaustion that’s become too familiar.

Sometimes, your thoughts pick up speed without warning. You lie awake at night replaying conversations and second-guessing whether you came off as rude or annoying, or spiraling into “what if” scenarios that leave you wired and exhausted at the same time.

When you let those thoughts in, sometimes your chest and shoulders tighten. Other times, everything suddenly feels distant and foggy, like you’re watching your own life from the outside. And even when nothing is happening, it’s hard to relax into the quiet because part of you is always sure there’s something else to worry about.

You’ve learned to scan the room before you speak: predicting how others might react and adjusting yourself to avoid any conflict or tension. You love your family, but can’t help but feel resentful over having to play this role you didn’t choose. With partners or friends, you keep your needs to yourself—worrying that voicing them will be “too much” and push people away.

Maybe you’ve even been labeled as ‘difficult’ when you’re actually just being yourself. The result is a kind of loneliness that follows you even in crowded rooms: the sense that people rely on you, but don’t truly see you.

You might feel pulled between honoring your family’s hopes for you and listening to the parts of yourself that are growing louder—the parts craving authenticity, rest, or a different way of living. Every choice feels loaded: who you date, how you reply to (another) request from a family member, how you spend your limited free time.

Maybe you’ve recently made a decision—or are considering making one—that could ostracize you from the people you care about most. The guilt, the fear of disappointing your family, and the longing to belong in more than one world can make it hard to trust your own gut, even when you know you’re not happy with things as they are.

Rising Embers provides a unique approach to bridge the neuroscience of change and the wisdom of collective care. Come experience culturally responsive therapy and wellness for women that integrates community from day one--because we were never meant to do this alone.

Hi, I’m Reena.

You deserve support that honors where you come from—and guides you toward who you’re becoming.

Here, you don’t have to perform, prove anything, or pretend you’re fine—you can show up exactly as you are and be honest without fear of judgment. In my more than a decade of experience as a therapist, I’ve worked with many people who arrive feeling unsure where to start, and we figure it out together, one step at a time.

Everything we do together is an invitation, not an expectation—and though parts of this process can be difficult, we’ll go with the flow and sometimes even laugh together. You set the pace of the work, because I believe your sense of agency and trust in yourself are some of your greatest assets, and I want to help you foster them. I understand what it’s like to feel out of place, to question what you’ve been taught, and to live between worlds. That perspective shapes how I show up in this work and support you in finding clarity, self-compassion, and a path forward that actually feels like your own.

“Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”

01 Connect with me.

You can schedule a free consultation by clicking here. There’s no pressure and no preparation required, this is simply a chance to share what’s bringing you to seek support, have your questions answered, and find out if working together feels like a good fit.

02 Come as you are.

If we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule your first session and start right where you are. I offer appointments in person at my office in Chandler and online across Arizona and Hawai’i. In our early sessions, we’ll take time to understand what’s been happening and what would be most helpful for you.

03 Embody real change.

Together, we’ll explore what you want your life to feel like (not just what you don’t want) and identify small, doable steps to bring that vision to life. As we collaborate toward your goals, you can start to notice that you aren’t just acting like the person you want to be—you’re becoming them.

Courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s choosing, again and again, the life that feels most true.
